Purple Brand expands into Switzerland with NetSuite and Boss Info as a trusted partner

Optimized ERP for Seamless Global Logistics

To ensure a smooth international expansion, Purple Brand, an international fashion company, required a customized ERP solution that adhered to Swiss regulations and seamlessly integrated its European logistics. With NetSuite and Boss Info’s expertise, the company successfully implemented a tailored system coordinated linked automatically to the 3PL, as well as automating inbound shipments and intercompany (ICO) overage handling.

The result:

  • Greater efficiency
  • Reduced manual effort
  • Improved compliance with international trade regulations

Initial Situation: International Expansion with New Market Requirements

Purple Brand, a high-end fashion company headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, has successfully operated under a B2B model. The launch of a new European subsidiary in Switzerland, introduced new challenges, as the market required a different B2B sales process. Additionally, logistics needed to be integrated between a third-party logistics (3PL) software in Belgium and NetSuite. Ensuring a seamless NetSuite integration that met EU and Swiss VAT regulations and intercompany transaction constraints was crucial for operational success.

The Challenge: Inbound Shipment Management and Intercompany Overage Handling

Purple Brand needed to redefine its sales process to accommodate the B2B model required primarily for the EU markets. Inbound shipment management had to be automated to reduce manual intervention, ensure compliance with 3PL customs documentation, and seamlessly integrate with NetSuite. Additionally, handling intercompany overages within NetSuite posed significant challenges, as the system did not natively support receiving more items than originally shipped. Manual workarounds were inefficient and error prone.

Boss Info – NetSuite partner with hands-on experience in ERP implementations

Boss Info was chosen as Purple Brand’s NetSuite partner due to its expertise in international regulations and logistics. With extensive knowledge of the Swiss and European markets and a proven track record in NetSuite customization, Boss Info provided a tailored solution that seamlessly integrated with Purple Brand’s supply chain. Their Swiss-based team ensured full compliance with VAT requirements while optimizing intercompany transactions.

The Solution: Tailored NetSuite Implementation

To address Purple Brand’s challenges, Boss Info implemented a NetSuite-based solution focusing on two key areas:

Automated Inbound Shipment Process

Boss Info introduced a streamlined process for handling inbound shipments. Shipment data is uploaded via CSV files and automatically processed within NetSuite. The system generates ASNs through API integration with 3PL provider Beckmann, ensuring customs clearance and inventory accuracy. Upon receipt, automated scripts eliminate the need for manual purchase order intervention.

ICO Overage Solution

To manage intercompany overages, Boss Info developed an automated detection and adjustment system. Instead of modifying purchase orders, NetSuite now generates inventory adjustments when an overage occurs, maintaining compliance while ensuring seamless tracking.
In addition, the commercial invoice process was optimized to align with customs and warehouse requirements.

Business Impact & Benefits

The solution delivered measurable benefits for Purple Brand:

Improved Efficiency

Manual interventions were significantly reduced, streamlining supply chain operations.

Enhanced Accuracy

Automated adjustments on inbound eliminated errors in inventory reconciliation and financial reporting.

Regulatory Compliance

The solution ensured full alignment with NetSuite constraints and EU VAT regulations.

Real-Time Insights

Integration with 3PL and automated notifications provide better supply chain visibility.

Scalability

Purple Brand can now expand its inbound logistics with a future-ready framework.

A Successful Collaboration

Boss Info’s ability to define and customize an entirely new process from scratch proved of great value and can now provide the basis for improvements in other areas of Purple Brand’s global supply chain.

Next Steps: Preparing for Future Growth

Looking ahead, Purple Brand plans to:

  • Expand NetSuite functionalities to support evolving international operations.
