6. Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics
This website may use functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and facilitate analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
The storage of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its web content and its advertising.
IP anonymization
We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. As a result, your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or other states signed up to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data by Google.
Browser Plugin
You may refuse the use of cookies by configuring the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address), for the attention of Google, and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Contract data processing
We have concluded a contract data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics
This website may use the “demographic characteristics” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain information about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be linked to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the advertising settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the Objection to data collection” section above.
Google AdSense
This website may use Google AdSense, an advertising integration service from Google Inc (“Google”). The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google AdSense uses “cookies”, which are text files that are stored on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. Google AdSense also uses “web beacons” (invisible graphics). These web beacons enable information such as visitor traffic on these pages to be analyzed.
The information generated by cookies and web beacons about the use of this website (including your IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. This information may be shared by Google with Google’s contractual partners. However, Google will not merge your IP address with other data stored by you.
The storage of AdSense cookies is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its web content and its advertising.
You may refuse the installation of cookies by configuring the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
Google Analytics Remarketing
Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
This feature allows the target audiences for advertising created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked to the cross-device functionalities of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalized advertising messages that have been adapted to you based on your previous usage and browsing behavior on one end device (e.g. cell phone) can also be displayed on another of your end devices (e.g. tablet or PC).
If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalized advertising messages can be displayed on every device on which you log in with your Google account.
To support this functionality, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated IDs of users that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.
You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalized advertising in your Google account. To do so, follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.
The aggregation of this collected data in your Google account is based solely on your consent, which you can grant or revoke at Google (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR). In the case of data collection processes that are not merged into your Google account (e.g. because you do not have a Google account or have objected to such merging), the collection of the data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymized analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
Within the scope of our use of Google AdWords, we use the “conversion tracking” feature. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the internet browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can detect that the user had clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.
Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked through AdWords customers’ websites. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted into conversion tracking. These customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified. If you do not wish to participate in such tracking, you can object to this by simply deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under its user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
The storage of “conversion cookies” is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its web content and its advertising.
For more information on Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy.
You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, prevent the acceptance of cookies for specific instances or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. When cookies are disabled, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to verify whether data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is made by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor opens the website. For analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent by the website visitor on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Website visitors are not made aware that an analysis is taking place.
This processing of data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web content from abusive automated espionage and spam.
For more information about Google reCAPTCHA and Google’s privacy policy, please see the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy und https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.
Facebook Pixel
Our website may use the visitor action pixel from Facebook, Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”), for conversion measurement.
This makes it possible to track the behavior of page visitors after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of Facebook ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and for optimization of future advertising measures.
The data collected is anonymous for us as the operator of this website; we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook, meaning that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and that Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with the Facebook’s privacy policy:
This enables Facebook to serve ads on Facebook pages as well as outside of Facebook. This use of data cannot be influenced by us as the website operator.
You can find more information about protecting your privacy in Facebook’s privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.
You can also disable the “Custom Audiences” remarketing feature in the ad settings section at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. To do this, you must be logged in to Facebook.
If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable usage-based advertising from Facebook on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: https://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.
