The system was to seamlessly adapt to the company’s operational processes – not the other way around. For Managing Director Kathrin Simperl, it was important that no employee ever has to say, «I can’t enter this» or «The system doesn’t allow this.» Even less tech-savvy employees should be able to work with the software intuitively and without problems.

bossFood as an Industry-Specific Solution with Custom Adaptations

Simperl AG didn’t want a one-size-fits-all solution but a system tailored to the industry that incorporates practical experience. Boss Info offers exactly that. The foundation is Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, on top of which Boss Info’s industry solution bossFood is implemented. This solution has been expanded to include the individual wishes and needs of Simperl AG, other butcheries, and the Swiss Meat Association.

Initial Situation

Before implementing bossFood, Simperl AG was already using Boss Info’s scale solution and additionally worked with Excel spreadsheets. As the company evolved, its requirements grew as well. Management began searching for a comprehensive ERP solution and compared three different providers.

In the end, only Boss Info could cover everything: from the scales to the accounting interface – all in one place!

The system needed to cover both the requirements of the food industry and the individual needs of the butchery. The company is known for accommodating specific customer requests, such as custom recipes or portion sizes. This agility was also meant to be reflected digitally.

At the start, Simperl AG had concerns about the cloud migration and the performance of the new solution. The key priorities were: no data loss and fast order entry in the new system. Thanks to new high-performance hardware and a well-planned rollout, the implementation went smoothly.

  • Butchering Cost Calculation: Supports goods receipt, label printing for cuts, and management of butchering planning.
  • Livestock Accounting: Fully automated – from purchase invoices and weigh tickets to TVD reporting.

And finally, the weekly promotional price list will also be integrated into the system automatically.
